Urban Mixed Martial Arts

At Urban Mixed Martial Arts we strive to turn you into a fit & confident individual while you learn effective self defense techniques.

Our self defense system is a hybrid of styles incorporating aspects of kickboxing, Thai boxing, jiu-jitsu and pankration to name a few.

At Urban Mixed Martial Arts you will learn to defend & attack using all of your extremities (incl. knees and elbows). You will also learn amazing body leveraging techniques and submission skills that are effective even against stronger and heavier opponents when properly executed.

A typical youth or adult class at Urban Mixed Martial Arts usually lasts 1.5hrs. The first 30min of each class normally consists of a stretching and cardio routine to get you warmed up, leaving another hour and a half to learn new techniques and re-enforce them by doing drills and/or sparring.

Kids classes are one hour and are designed to be both instructional and fun. The kids classes consist of a stretch and a warm-up exercise followed by lessons and practice. The kids learn most of what we teach the adults and the youth but at a much lower intensity.

Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays:

Kids classes from 5pm to 6pm

Youth classes from 6pm to 7:30pm

Adult classes from 7:30pm to 9pm.

We are also open on Saturdays from 12pm - 2pm for open classes and 2pm - 4pm for more intense training.

Saturdays are open to youth and adult students only.

We are operating in the lower gym of the Phoenix School Of Martial Arts which is located at 8285 132 street in Surrey, B.C.
